Strategic Approach

Steps on a personal level: Discipleship

  1. Get The Word of God into men's hands.
    • The choice of study Bible and resources needed is based upon discernment of one's maturity in Christ.

  1. Begin to gauge the depth of need and work required to bring a fuller understanding of Scripture.
  2. Seek to get men involved in Christian programs in the chapel:
    • TUMI (The Urban Ministry Institute)
    • The Truth Project
    • Purpose Driven Life
    • Celebrate Recovery
    • Etc.

  1. Develop ongoing one-on-one discipleship, covering aspects of daily Christian living, counseling and service within the body.

Steps on a corporal level: Growth

  1. Identify and come alongside those existing leaders within the Church.
  2. For those men that exhibit marks of an elder 1Tim 3:1-7; Tit 2:1-3 and are living lives as servants accountable to others, the mission is presented and if embraced the sphere of ministry is expanded one heart at a time.
  3. Seek and acquire necessary resources for these men, providing as need requires.
  4. Work to develop relationships with other Christian organizations to mend the disconnect with those incarcerated believers.  Some needs:
    • Christian transitional housing in multiple counties
    • Resume building
    • Employment opportunities
    • Accountability partners
    • Church's with men's ministry
    • Development of Godly relationships
    • Compassion, Godly love and a concern for human wellbeing.
